About Us

Where Colour Meets Identity

In a time where fashion often forgets its roots, By Utie
emerges as a quiet invitation to remember. We believe
that clothing should do more than follow trends—it should
honor the body, the story, and the soul. Our garments
are crafted with care—using, whenever possible, natural
fabrics like bamboo, cotton, and linen, and plant-based
dyes, shaped to flow through everyday life.

Each piece is made to transition with you—from work
to rest, from private reflection to public presence. Through
personal colour analysis, we help each person rediscover
the hues that speak to their essence.

This is clothing that listens. That remembers. That
expresses. By Utie is not about wearing more, but wearing
with meaning. Not about dressing up, but dressing true.

Step into your palette. Colour your identity.

Rooted in Intention

In a world where fabric often feels distant from its
roots, we return to nature—softly, deliberately. At By Utie,
the materials we choose are more than functional; they are
statements of care. In most pieces, we begin with what the
earth offers: bamboo, cotton, linen—fibers that breathe,
soften with time, and carry a quiet resilience. Each thread
holds the memory of sun, soil, and season.

Our dyes, too, are drawn from life—plants, roots, leaves,
and blooms—bringing gentle depth to many of our pieces.
These are more than colour; they are living hues: a gentle
ochre from turmeric, a muted indigo from leaves, a rose-
touched beige from bark.

Wherever possible, we choose natural fibres and
botanical dyes. And in every decision—material, method,
or rhythm—we aim to stay present, thoughtful, and kind.
Some pieces may include subtle blends for structure or
shade, but always with intention.

The Guardian of Colour

Komang Putri Pratiwi, warmly known as Utie, is Bali’s
first certified colour analyst—a quiet observer of how hues
can gently guide us back to ourselves.

Drawn to the emotional and cultural language of colour,
she pursued internationally certified courses in South
Korea and Japan, where she studied the art of personal
colour analysis with depth and nuance.

She later founded Colour by Utie, a consultancy rooted
in the belief that colour can be both mirror and compass.
What began as intimate, one-on-one sessions gradually
revealed a deeper longing: to create garments that carry
the same care, clarity, and intention.

Thus, By Utie was born—a natural extension of her
journey. Guided by nature’s wisdom and the quiet power
of colour, Utie creates clothing that is not just worn, but
deeply felt. Through her work, she hopes to nurture a more
intuitive way of dressing—where beauty is grounded, and
identity is honored.
